The wool used to weave the rugs is put through a distinct process that ultimately results in the unique appearance. The weaving methods are native to Moroccan Berber tribes women. The weaver typically starts by washing the rug with water from the Atlas Springs. The rug is then placed in direct sunlight where it is dried - a process which gives Berber rugs their signature ivory colour. Don’t worry if you get an unexpected stain on your Berber rug - thanks to the natural lanolin within the wool the rug is naturally resistant to many everyday stains. Most stains can simply be wiped away with a damp sponge. If you need an all-over clean it is best to use a professional rug cleaner.
